The position provides high‑quality support to a diverse group of domestic and international students living on campus. The RCO plays a central role in delivering a positive residential experience by ensuring a strong welcome and transition, engaging with students as partners, supporting their health, wellbeing, and academic progress, and responding empathetically to their needs and concerns. Working under the guidance of the Dean of Students and aligned with the Residential Communities Strategy 2025–2030, the RCO contributes to creating safe, vibrant, and uniquely Tasmanian living environments where students can thrive. The role supports a collegiate model focused on belonging, shared growth, personal discovery, and student‑led leadership, guided by principles of being resident‑focused, collaborative, innovative, and sustainable. This role involves some work outside of standard work hours, with fixed days and shifts finishing as late as 7:00pm and some Saturdays on a rotational basis.
