The Opportunity
Reporting to the Manufacturing Manager, the Manufacturing Engineer plays a critical role in optimising production processes to support efficiency, quality, safety, and cost‑effectiveness.
You’ll work closely with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, R&D and quality teams to ensure products are produced reliably and to the highest standard. Your ability to challenge the status quo, identify root causes, and implement improvement initiatives will directly contribute to operational excellence and product reliability.
This role is ideal for someone who is analytical, hands‑on, and thrives in a dynamic and continuously evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse current manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Design and implement production improvements, including equipment selection and layout changes.
• Ensure manufacturing tools and equipment are calibrated, maintained, and operating effectively.
• Evaluate processes through knowledge of product design, assembly, tooling, and materials.
• Develop and update manufacturing documentation, including SOPs and work instructions.
• Drive LEAN initiatives to minimise waste and improve ergonomics, quality, and throughput.
• Support new product introduction (NPI) and collaborate with R&D on prototypes and design for manufacture/assembly (DFMA).
• Monitor production performance, quality trends, and safety outcomes and implement corrective actions.
• Train manufacturing staff to improve capability and reduce onboarding time.
• Contribute to cross‑departmental problem‑solving and continuous improvement activities.

You will succeed in this role if you bring:

• Proven experience in manufacturing or process engineering (3–5 years).
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability.

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
• Tech‑savviness, including experience with ERP systems.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential:

• Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
• Demonstrated experience in a manufacturing or process engineering role.
• Full working rights in Australia.

Desirable:

• Experience in manufacturing or assembly of electrical/electronic systems.
• Knowledge of fabrication methods, tool design, and quality assurance techniques.
• Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and engineering drawings.
• Experience with LEAN methodologies and continuous improvement tools.
• Strong understanding of WHS and environmental compliance.
