As our business continues to grow, we are creating new leadership opportunities. This Production Supervisor position represents an evolution of our existing 2IC roles, offering greater responsibility, visibility, and career development. This position is Permanent FT (including a 3 month probation period) 38 hours over a 4 day work week (6.45am to 4.45pm Monday to Thursday, or Tuesday to Friday).

We’re looking for a Production Supervisor who is hands-on and supportive, working alongside the production team (and our other Production Supervisor) to guide, coach, and set clear expectations. You’ll use positive reinforcement to build confidence and encourage high performance, while ensuring standards are consistently met. We don’t take ourselves too seriously, but we are serious about producing safe food.

This position will work closely with our other Production Supervisor and report to our Operations Manager.

You’ll be someone who listens to staff ideas and feedback and actively seeks ways to implement meaningful improvements, while prioritising people safety and food safety at every step.  You will lead by example, support staff to troubleshoot issues and spend significant time on the floor with the production staff in the manufacturing environment, which includes being comfortable in a food manufacturing environment, wearing PPE and standing on production lines.

 Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting a positive culture and work environment, based on mutual respect and empathic leadership

  • Rostering staff (including planned leave coverage, as well as shift coverage for unplanned absences) and completing production schedules to optimise efficiency

  • Providing ongoing on-the-floor support to the production team to ensure products are manufactured to standard and to meet KPIs

  • Ensuring all products produced comply to food safety requirements, meet company specification and are in line with quality guidelines

  • Training and developing a diverse range of production team members

  • Ensuring a strong focus on safety and safe work practices

  • Support and implementation of our digitisation program

  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to optimise production, reduce costs, and enhance product quality

  • Collaborating with other departments, such as quality assurance and maintenance, to ensure smooth production operations

 What we're looking for

  • 3-5 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in a supervisory role, experience with food manufacture and formal HACCP/GMP training will be highly regarded

  • Strong technical knowledge of production processes and equipment, with the ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team

  • Proven experience in implementing continuous improvement initiatives and driving operational efficiencies, formal training in Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement will be highly regarded

  • Familiarity with relevant health and safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace

  • Flexibility to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities
