Cadet Environmental Health Officer

• Assisting with the delivery of public and environmental health programs across the community.

• Responding to customer requests and enquiries in a professional and timely manner.

• Supporting investigations into environmental and public health complaints and nuisances.

• Undertaking water and food sampling activities, including pools and beaches.

• Assisting with the delivery and administration of immunisation programs.

• Maintaining accurate records, data and correspondence in line with legislative and organisational requirements.

• Enrolment in, or eligibility to enrol in, a course that meets the Approved Qualifications requirements of the Director of Public Health for appointment as an Environmental Health Officer under the Public Health Act 1997 and an Authorised Officer under the Food Act 2003.

• A tertiary qualification in science or other relevant field is generally a pre-requisite for enrolment in approved Environmental Health courses.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused approach.

• The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing your own workload.

• Sound research, problem-solving and organisational skills.

• A current driver licence and eligibility to obtain a Working with Vulnerable People registration.

• National Police Check Certificate dated within 6 months must be supplied by candidate prior to commencement.

• Base salary between $67,874.45 and $75,124.88 + 13% superannuation

• Temporary full-time position for 2 years.

• Monthly rostered day off
