Your opportunity to join our team 

As a Maintenance Fitter at our Sorell facility, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of our machinery and equipment. You will play a key role in minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity by performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and making necessary repairs. Hours of Work:

This is a full-time role that will operate Monday – Friday , rotating shifts 

  • 4:00am-12:30pm
  • 6:00am-2:30pm
  • 8:30am-5:00pm

Daily Tasks:

  • Attending to repairs and breakdowns of production machinery in a timely manner
  • Reduce reactive maintenance and proactively improve unplanned downtime
  • Assisting in developing and introducing maintenance programs to support all internal stakeholders
  • Ensure the execution of safety standards and quality assurance practices into all repairs and maintenance activities
  • Identifying and escalating Animal Welfare, Food Safety & Quality issues, hazards and risks
  • Take personal responsibility to ensure livestock is treated humanely by self and others

You will bring to this role:

  • Australian recognised Mechanical Trades qualification
  • Experience in servicing, repair, and maintaining various equipment, including but not limited to automated packing machinery, conveyors, hydraulics, and more, in an industrial manufacturing environment .
  • Demonstrated commitment to Occupational Health and Safety practices
  • Experience in fault finding on hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems
  • Experience in breakdown as well and preventive maintenance
  • Sound interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships, communicate and collaborate effectively with key stakeholders
  • Proven skills in the areas of attention to detail, information processing and problem solving with the ability to multitask
  • Experience with Maximo as a CMMS would be an advantage
  • Ability to work unsupervised and as part of a team
