An opportunity for a proactive Maintenance Officer to join our Freshwater team and help keep our hatchery operations running safely, smoothly, and efficiently.

The role

Working as part of a hands‑on crew, you’ll support the reliability of our equipment and infrastructure through high‑quality routine and preventative maintenance.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Completing daily tasks and allocated duties to required standards
  • Performing routine and preventative maintenance across site equipment
  • Maintaining accurate daily checklists, records, and documentation
  • Supporting the implementation and use of MEX on site
  • Keeping workshops and site areas clean, safe, and well‑organised

Working a 7 days on, 7 days off roster, we have opportunities at our Forest Home hatchery located in Judbury, and our Whale Point hatchery located in Port Huon.

About you

You’re a practical, reliable team player who enjoys problem‑solving and contributing to a positive work environment.

You bring:
  • The ability to take direction, work independently, and collaborate well
  • Strong communication, organisation, and problem‑solving skills
  • A trade certificate, relevant experience, or strong freshwater operational knowledge
  • Physical capability to meet the demands of the role
  • A commitment to safety, learning, and continuous improvement
