About the role

Support the safe, reliable running of Hydro Tasmania’s power stations by assisting with maintenance, basic operational tasks and condition checks across sites statewide. Work side by side with Production & Maintenance crews, pitch in on refurbishment jobs, and gain exposure to a wide range of plant, tools and equipment.

Salary range $73,524 – $90,425 plus super and area allowance.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out basic maintenance and operational tasks.
  • Feed into technical teams with condition monitoring of dams and plant equipment.
  • Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance on generation equipment.
  • Complete SAP work order updates, reporting and maintenance records.
  • Contribute to safety compliance, audits, incident response and WHS systems.

Skills & experience

  • Post‑trade qualification and/or high‑risk skills such as rigging/dogging, confined space, first aid, working at heights, truck or chainsaw licence, and experience with scaffolding or crane operations.
  • Experience with mechanical/electrical plant or workshop practices.
  • Exposure to civil works or labouring activities.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office).
  • Current driver’s licence.
