Early Childhood Educator

We’re looking for someone who holds, or is currently studying towards, a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

You’ll be part of a team that values reflective practice, strong relationships and play-based learning, delivering programs that balance intentional teaching with child-led exploration – including imaginative play, music, storytelling, outdoor learning, and quiet time.

Important eligibility requirement

To be considered for this role, applicants must either:

• Hold a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, OR
• Be currently enrolled and actively studying towards a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

Applicants who hold a Graduate Diploma, Bachelor degree, or higher qualification in Early Childhood Education but do not hold (or are not studying towards) a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care will not be considered for this position.

What you’ll be doing

• Support the delivery of a high-quality early learning program aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework.
• Supervise and engage children during daily routines, learning experiences and excursions.
• Contribute to program planning and documentation, with guidance and mentoring available.
• Support children’s wellbeing through responsive care and positive guidance.
• Maintain a safe, clean and nurturing learning environment.
• Build respectful, professional relationships with families and colleagues.

What you’ll bring

• A Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or current enrolment studying towards a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care (essential).
• A genuine interest in child development and early learning practice.
• A willingness to learn, reflect and grow as an educator.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
• A strong commitment to child safety, wellbeing and inclusive practice.
• A current Tasmanian Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration.
• A current National Police Check (no older than six months) is required prior to commencement and must be obtained by the successful applicant.
