Applications are being sought for a Senior Customer Service Officer in the Port Operations Department.

Spirit of Tasmania is widely recognised for its provision of a world class passenger and freight service, and its contribution to the Australian tourism industry.

The role of the Senior Customer Service Officer is to provide supervision and leadership to Customer Service Officers and provide assistance to the Terminal Services Supervisor in overseeing the Terminal Services operation to ensure the following company objectives are achieved:

  • the provision of high quality customer service
  • ensuring effective and efficient operations
  • punctual sailings

We are looking for a Senior Customer Service Officer who will:

  • deliver high quality customer service
  • show initiative, leadership and promote a team approach to work within the Terminal Services team
  • maintain open lines of communication
  • actively engage in the team
  • explore continuous improvement opportunities
  • assist passengers and clients with operational sales queries and bookings
  • demonstrate a positive work ethic and commitment

The Senior Customer Service Officer duties will include:

  • ensuring the Terminal Services team is working as a cohesive and dynamic team, towards achieving a common goal of effective and efficient operations and punctual sailings
  • contributing to the management of Customer Service Officers,  including optimised work practices
  • ensuring Terminal Services produces timely provision of accurate information ensuring effective and efficient operations resulting in on time departures

provision of high quality customer service resulting in satisfied passengers and clients

Previous experience with supervision of staff and a high level of customer service in the tourism and hospitality or freight industries is desirable, but is not essential.
