Join a role where precision meets purpose. We're looking for a hands-on professional to lead critical lab testing, manage inventory with accuracy, and keep equipment in top shape through routine checks and maintenance.
About the role:
As a key player in our technical team, you'll perform hands-on laboratory testing that drives product excellence, manage inventory with precision, and ensure our equipment runs like clockwork through regular checks and maintenance. Your detailed service reports will keep stakeholders informed, while your clear communication with customers, sales, and internal teams will make you the go-to expert who keeps everything connected.
You will be responsible for:
Maintain appropriate chemical stock levels on site and place orders as needed.
Sample and test process tanks regularly; report and resolve any faults promptly.
Accurately record all test and monitoring results in the designated system.
Inspect chemical dosing and monitoring equipment weekly, report or correct faults and clean as necessary.
Identify and report water or chemical leaks and any unusual occurrences.
Perform minor equipment repairs related to faults or leaks.
Reprogram and recalibrate equipment as required to maintain optimal performance.
Conduct manual chemical dosing when necessary.
Uphold high standards of housekeeping and maintain accurate quality records.
Ensure all programs, existing and new are controlled according to design parameters to meet customer performance expectations.
Provide professional onsite support, including assistance with customer trials.
Collaborate with team members to ensure customer deliverables are consistently met and maintained.
What you need to be successful
Formal qualifications are not required. However, a trade certificate or degree in chemistry/science is highly regarded, as is prior experience in the paper industry.
Able to work independently for extended periods without supervision
Able to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
Fully computer literate, with proficiency in MS Office suite
Comfortable working at heights
Capable of maintaining basic equipment; mechanical aptitude preferred
Demonstrates safe work practices and can proactively identify hazards
Self-starter with strong ability to manage and prioritize workload
Proven ability to perform repetitive tasks with consistency
Strong attention to detail
Clear verbal communication skills; able to liaise effectively with colleagues and customers
Willingness and ability to travel as required
Holds a current driver’s licence
