The Role:"Building Performance from the Ground Up"Reporting directly to the Senior Leader Corporate Planning and Strategy, as the Team Leader - Corporate Planning & Performance, you will lead a small, high-impact team of three Corporate Planners and a Corporate Planning Officer. This role sits at the centre of how the City of Launceston plans, measures and improves its performance. You and your team will shape and strengthen the organisation's corporate planning function, establishing a structured and data-driven approach to how the City plans, monitors progress, and delivers on its strategic priorities. You will play a key role in building the systems that underpin corporate planning and organisational performance. This includes implementing a robust corporate planning culture, developing performance monitoring frameworks, embedding meaningful KPIs across the organisation, and establishing consistent data inputs that support reliable reporting and, over time, enable more automated performance reporting. The role also leads the review, mapping, and alignment of corporate planning documents to ensure they clearly support Council's strategic direction. Working across the organisation, you will oversee the corporate planning roadmap, support service level management and reviews, and resourcing discussions, and embed a culture of continuous improvement and accountability for results. Key ResponsibilitiesDeliver and continuously improve Council's Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework.Lead the development, implementation, and continuous refinement of business metrics that measure organisational performance, service delivery, and progress of the 10-year Strategic Plan.Embed project management principles and corporate planning methodologies.Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and governance standards.Build strong stakeholder relationships and foster collaboration across teams.Lead Service Management, service level planning and service review programs. About YouThe person we need will be a strong systems thinker who can work confidently across the organisation, building relationships and overcoming roadblocks. You'll be highly connected, gaining insight through service reviews and clearly explaining the "why" behind decisions. With a blend of enthusiasm and technical capability, you'll analyse and report on data effectively, while keeping Integrated Planning and Reporting at the centre of your work. You will bring management, corporate planning, and project skills, the ability to interpret legislation and apply budgeting principles, and have at least five years' experience supported by a relevant degree.
